Why You Could be Better off Renting Instead of Owning a Home

{{ post.title }}
Do you prefer renting or buying a home? You may have already looked through a couple of photos, had a few floor plans designed, and inspected a few houses. Yet, despite the fact that you already have enough for a down payment, you are still a renter. Why is this? Because you cannot find that perfect home or because you do not want to find that perfect home? If it is the former, you will probably come across it someday, but if it is the latter, it is because you are scared of becoming a homeowner.

Only you figure out the answers, but we can help you with it. Research was conducted and here are some of the results. The sample size comprised of 500 renters who had been searching for homes for longer than a year, but had little or no success so far. Their responses were recorded and the results indicated that if any of the following facts were true, it was simply because the individuals did not want to be homeowners after all.

You Cannot Make a Decision

Becoming a homeowner is probably one of the most important financial decisions you will ever make in your life. And before you invest all that huge amount of money, you should know if homeownership is your thing or not. Are you that sort of individual who prefers tiled floors this week and carpets the next? Or maybe you want an additional bathroom or more space? In all cases, if you frequently change opinions and decisions, you should not become a homeowner.

You Are Always Calling Someone for Help

So you are not that DIY sort of person. Whether it is a plumbing leak or a minor repair, you straight away whisk out a number and dial a service. And whose number is it? Your landlord’s? In this case avoid becoming a home owner until you are ready to handle such issues on your own.

You Want To Stay Away From Debt

Homeownership hardly ever comes without a mortgage, and that means years of debt for a large part of your life. Don’t like the sound of that? Do not think about buying a home then.

According to the survey, if any of the above is true in your case, you should just stick to renting and forget about becoming a homeowner.
