{{ post.title }}
Even in the rainy season, there are just not enough downpours in Texas. With the little that you do have, you should take full advantage of it. That is what a few property managers have been doing in 2013.  Why not join them and let the cool rainwater shower you with its benefits. Harvest it, and you will love the return of this act.

Rainwater harvesting is the process of collecting water that falls from roofs and other high areas when it rains. The more inclined the surface is, the more easily the water falls off. You can collect this water through sophisticated systems that can either be installed above the ground or below it. Later on, this stored water can be used for a variety of purposes such as drinking, cooking and irrigation as well.

Texas does not receive frequent rainfall and droughts are prone in the region, so harvesting rainwater makes even more sense. No matter what size of property you have, you really should invest in a rainwater collector system.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension has reported that almost 50% of the total water available in Texas is utilized for irrigation. With the droughts that Texas can experience from time to time, having your own water supplies becomes necessary. Remember 2011 and 2012 when public water supplies became depleted? Serves as a great reason to store as much water as you can.

Rainwater systems are not just useful for you; it is good for the plants as well. The quality of this water is higher because it does not undergo any treatment, which ascertains that there are no quantities of fluoride, chlorine or other chemicals present.

There are several types of rainwater harvesting systems available. You will have to consider factors such as irrigation area, efficiency, tank volume, and annual rainfall percentages to determine the right system for your needs

Throughout the region, there are several properties on which water collection systems have already been installed or are under way. You can even supply this water to an irrigation system which could provide you with a profit. You will even get to enjoy other benefits as well such as increased value of your house, reduced water bills and greener landscapes; and all this without having to spend too much. So in the HOT summer of 2013, a rainwater harvesting system might be a great investment.
